The iPhone 4 was and still is the best
For some. My iPhone4 has been a pain in the ass when it comes to phone calls. I have a nearly 90% drop rate on phone calls. Those that do go through, no one can understand me. I think I need to exchange my phone.

Do you mean "whilst" the update is happening the fans run at full speed, or after the update applys your fans are stupidly loud? :confused:
With a pending order of the mac pro, the last thing I wanna go through is powermac G5 fan hell again......
yeah, just during the update, they blast off for about 10 seconds, it actually sounds like a small airplane taking off (thankfully my mac pro is secured between my desk and the wall :) )
but NO, the fans are not loud all the time now, they sound just fine, but after the update (according to temperature monitor) they are about 10 degrees F cooler now at idle

Not so much. Intelligence is like a measuring cup. You can fill it up all you want, but you're not going to be able to pour a gallon of knowledge into a shot glass of a brain and have nothing spill.
Back on topic - we already have legal racism, but we call it Affirmative Action. Hiring one of two qualified candidates simply because he's black, brown, or yellow and there's a quota to fill is just as bad as hiring the white guy just because he's white.

downloaded the update, my news feed won't populate. just get an error message. deleted it and reuploaded the previous release which didn't have any problems. i could care less about the places feature so i guess it doesn't matter.

Apple is a business, and its not only a possibility but expected to withhold features from products to help sell other products.
Your analogy is not as black and white as you portray it. Air conditioning is a feature that many many cars have. To not include it would be a deal breaker for almost every customer out there. Meanwhile lets say leather interior was a feature that was standard on another model it would make you think twice when thinking which model to buy either between that of the same brand (in this case ford) or another lets say Nissan. If you wanted to use your same analogy in this situation it would be if Apple choose to withhold a trackpad on the laptop.
Same thing here. BL KB is a feature that is not too standard on ALL laptops. Its more or less a luxury feature that differentiates itself from not only other Apple laptops but other companies laptops.
But to take it away ... after it had long be a 'standard' feature, that's what's vexing. That's all I'm saying. It's weird to make one part of your product line go backwards (after so many years of having the feature) in order to all the sudden assert that the rest of the line is now 'luxary'.
Usually, yesterday's luxaries become tomorrows 'standard' feature. It's downright inane to go backwards in that regard.
And I'll go with your analogy. If apple suddenly took away trackpads on their lower end laptops and declared it a luxary feature... we'd all be pissed as hell. I really don't see how this is any different.

Not surpising at all. It's all about control of content and money.
All studios, rather music or movie have always hated the idea of selling content even though it makes them a ton of money. If they could do away with all of it, including DVD sells, they would. What they truly want is for you to pay a fee every time you want to view or listen to content and you never "own" anything period. Nothing physical at all to buy, just pay for it every time you view or listen.

So far mine has been working perfectly fine. The only thing more I'd ask from it is for it to have an option to turn on and off a vibrate when your phone is set to silent. Sometime at night, I'm not looking at my phone's general direction with the sound off. If I get a txt or Email push or w/e, I can hear it vibrate. Just needs that for me and then I'd never need another update from them.

I don't like the bar of soap design like the old iPhones. Prefer the iPhone 4 with the glass back and thin design.

I hope it fixes the USB connection to Canon cameras. They broke it with 10.4.7. I'm still booting from my portable backup drive when shooting tethered (looks really pro on location).
I dread the going-backwards-sytem-reinstall BS tho, so that's what I have been doing.
My EOS 400D works fine (in tethered mode as well as just transfering from the memory card)?

I read this on slickdeals yesterday morning and went and got one at my local store. I figured for that price, my wife and son could play games and watch movies on it rather than always ask for my iphone when we are out....lol
