RFE and NOID come with a color sheet of paper with your details and some USCIS internal codes for your case. You can respond by yourself and put the sheet on top - this is for the mailroom to handle your case
If we do not use G28 to change representation from current lawyer hired by company, would all the notifications go just to the lawyer?
Can we submit G28 ourselves or does it needs to be a lawyer?

If we register our marriage in the US, say, today, wouldn't that conflict with the marriage affidavits we submitted for H4 etc? Those bear the wedding's original date.

1. Can we use AC21 provision without EAD card ?

I have got Jury summons many times. I just told them I am not eligible. Please note that you need to respond to the summon in time otherwise the court might inititiate action against you. The notice I got listed a few possible reasons why you cannot perform jury duty and not being a citizen was one of them. I selected it and enclosed a copy of my passport to indicate that I am not a US citizen.

Hello , Basically i was working in company B for a long time and they applied GC. Then I shifted to comp A and filed labor recently.
The company B was not doing good and for safety sake applied GC in company A also

Here are my thoughts about this so called Conversation:
the topic of discussion will be - how to get illegals a greencard in a quick/fair manner. Any discussion of legal non-immigrants and pains they have to go through in the current EB2/EB3/Visa stamp topics will be considered taboo.
It's sad but inevitable. Illegals are potentially in a better position to get greencard than legals like us.

a- If have not used your AP, if it is single entry
b- Otherwise, you can use it multiple time before the date of expiry, if it is multiple entry.

VB will come today.
I am going to ask my lawyer why it is late. It is is generally on Fridays in the first week on the month.
We should hope for a good VB as it is delayed. If it was copy paste, it would have come out sooner.

08/04 LUD on your I485 should be for approval. What does the message read? I had received RFE. They received the response for RFE on 08-01 for which there was LUD on 08-01. There was another LUD on 08-03. another one on 08-04. The status reads: "On August 1, 2008, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our NEBRASKA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Hi all,
This forum is full of smart people. So I want to throw my situation out there to get some advice from all of you. I am into 7th year of my H1 with by labor with PD of Sep 2002. At the rate things are moving, I am running out of patience here.
Things took an interesting turn last week, when a mid sized Software co. is willing to outsource me some of their work. Given the size of the opportunity, I will need to go to India to setup a team of 5 to 6 ppl. The co. is pretty eager and willing to offer some of the finanical guarantees I have asked for.
So my question is, should I take this opportunity and say good bye to GC? Or I should be patient as there may be a need to be in US to grow my outsourcing biz, in case it jump starts well. What would you do if you were presented this opportunity and you had the enterpreurial spirits to pull it off.
I would be eager to see what people say here.

Me too in same situation.. thx for sharing the exp.. Do you think the list of mandatory documents are sufficient ? I'm carrying last yrs tax returns, 5 months pay stubs, last 3yrs W-2 in addition to the mandatory documents. Anything else?

Just wanted to share our 7th year H-1B extension stamping in Chennai on July 15th. Since my I-140 was approved, the I-797 petition was approved for 3 years. My family (wife and daughter) attended the interview along with me. The procedure for H-1B extension/renewal is much easier in Chennai compared to first time stampers. There is a separate counter for renewals and the interview procedure is quite simple. After the initial screening of documents, we went to a separate renewal counter which did not have any queue.
The VO just asked some questions about my nature of the job and how long I have been with my company. FYI, my company is a major reputed IT Foreign MNC. My family was not asked any questions. We did not have any PIMS delays and I got the passport couriered the very next day itself. The petition was approved a month before the stamping. Overall it is a much streamlined process for H-1B visa extensions/renewals.

My parents visited here in US last year. Unfortunately my mother got high fever and admitted in hospital giving me bill of 30000$.
Insurance company denied my claims as pre existing condition. I tried several ways to convince insurance company but all in vain.
I negotiated with hospital to pay 15000 and paid off hospital bill.
I also got a doctor bill later and that went to collections. I didnt pay doctor bill (500 dollars) till today.
Does this 500 dollar collection notice will effect my mothers next visit?
If I pay now does it matter anyway?
Is there any chance of deportation?
Please advice...
Not paying the $500 is bad for your credit history. However, they should have no effect on your immigration --- AFAIK, the only thing they check if you were ever on public assistance ...

Another update on 485 today after it was transferred to TSC...
"The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office."

Is upgrading to premium actually an upgrade of the existing case or is it just a new application filed under premium?
