    It used to be required only for Mumbai Consulate. But I think Hyderabad has also started. Please check

    I think it is only for Mumbai Consulate(as mentioned in VFS (http://www.vfs-usa.co.in)).

    "For Mumbai consular district applicants only: Drop off your required documents three working days prior to your appointment at a VFS Application Centre in Mumbai, Pune or Ahmedabad."

    No where it is mentioned that HYD consulate has started. Where did you find it?

    Apologies if this is covered in a thread elsewhere (doubt it)

    A colleague and I both filed EB2 PERM labors at around the same time in 2005.
    Our 140s got approved roughly together too/
    We both also applied for 485 on July 2nd, through the same lawyer, and both applications went to TSC.
    Both of us saw our checks get encashed on the same date.

    Here's where our applications diverged.
    He received an LUD last friday and his EAD card has been ordered.
    I received an FP request today(monday) but no LUD updates.

    Although our applications are a bit dis-similar (he is married, i filed single), I have this theory that USCIS is splitting their queue, so as to not bombard its internal departments with the flood of work that has recently come in.
    It makes total sense to split people into two groups (atleast), and for each:
    a) send them EAD cards with a note of FP pending.
    b) send them FP notices and do their EAD later.

    (I know another friend who is in group a, while I'm in b)

    Yes, we all like to bitch and moan about USCIS, but thats generally emo-talk.

    So, has anyone else noticed this, or can anyone help me understand what I'm missing here.
    This is just me speculating, but I'd like to throw this thought out there and have it rebound with your inputs.

    The employee cannot pay any of the PERM costs - ads, attorney fees, etc. The employee can pay any part of the I-140 and 485 costs.

    Since your attorney is not filing (No G28 is filed when you DIY). I did this and I got approval for both EAD/AP in a month's time.
    Did you efile or paper file ???

    Also did u receive any finger-printing notice ???

    It depends on the I-140 you requested USCIS to consider while you aplied for I-485. There is some process called interifling, where you can later request USCIS to use the I-140 with better priority date against the I-485 so you can avoid multiple I-485.

    Is it enough to get 3 year extension with courtesy copy of I140 approval ? I am asking this because my company has just given the courtesy copy.
    Also I understand that the old Eb3 PD can be used to get extension(how can employer revoke approved labor certification ??)

    I am from Austin. I got my FP appointment scheduled on 11/13.

    Labor PD: 02/20/2007, I-140 pending with Nebraska since 06/29/2007.

    I submitted my I-485/765/131 on 8/1 to TSC and received by TSC on 8/2.

    All Notice from TSC dtd 9/26

    EAD card ordered on 10/3 and received on 10/10.

    FP notice date 10/16 with appointment scheduled on 11/13 in San Antonio, TX.

    No AP yet.
